The following is the most recent re-statement of its mission by the current Board of Trustees. It imbodies the sentiments expressed by the trust’s founder, John Wheeler, in the deed granted to the original trustees of Wheeler Memorial Chapel, dated May 8, 1889.
The mission of the Board of Trustees of Wheeler Memorial Chapel shall be to continue to support the ideals and principals set forth in its charter by following the example of its predecessors in maintaining this historic Merrimack property as a community sanctuary for the encouragement of religious and educational discourse such that it enriches the intellectual, moral, emotional, and spiritual lives of its citizens.
