FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Professionally restored antique window reinstalled.

9/30/2006 -

MERRIMACK, NH - Jade Mortimer, owner of Heartwood Building and Restoration of Hawley, MA has completed a detailed reconstruction of one of the original antique, double hung sash sets that was seriously damaged during one of the several severe storms that hit the region in the Spring of 2006.

The storm, carrying high winds, caused a large branch from one of the nearby oak trees to strike the north of the chapel smashing both the outer storm sash and the inner wood sash. The building itself was undamaged but the outer storm sash was destroyed and later replaced by Marvel Glass of Merrimack.

Shortly after, Heartwood Restoration was contracted to restore the inner sash to near original condition. Several months and $1400.00 later the window system was ready and has been re-installed.

It is hoped that this will be a catalyst to restore the remaining 16 windows in the chapel. Where these windows are only damaged by age they are expected to cost less ($1000.00 each).

It should be noted that during the replacement of the outer storm sash by Marvell Glass, that all cracked panes of glass on the ground floor of the chapel were replaced for safety concerns and visual appeal.
